Ghorepani poon hill trek is known as the small Annapurna circuit trekking, it is a short trek close to Pokhara which gives you an opportunity to see the greatest view of the Himalayas. Ghorepani Pun Hill trail passes through several interesting villages and different cultures.   • Day 1 : Arrive Kathmandu then transfer to hotel 1300m

    Once your arrival, our representative will be there to welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft). We will receive, you transfer to hotel

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

    Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest Stupa‘s in the world .

  • Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Nayapul via Pokhara

    Early in the morning after breakfast we will drive to Pokhara which takes 6 hours and then after that we will drive to Nayapul which takes another 2 hrs.O/N at Guesthouse

  • Day 4 : From Nayapul we trek to Ulleri (2050 m)by walking for 4 hours

    We pass through sub-tropical valley forests, sometimes on the carved trail on the side of the cliff. After lunch, we cross the Bhurungdi Khola (river) via a bridge to the village of Tikhedhunga. The Ulleri Hill with thousands of steps and boulders that continually go upward will really prove a test of our stamina. We reach Ulleri by late afternoon. Overnight in Ulleri using guesthouse accommodation.

  • Day 5 : Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani(2750 m).

    The trail goes to the dense forest of Rhododendron. Walk for 4~5 hours.After breakfast, we ascend to the Ghorepani village.We stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains. Overnight in Ghorepani.

  • Day 6 : Ghorepani to Tadapani (2700 m) with a visit to Poonhill

    Early in the morning we will hike for 2 hours to Poonhill for magnificent views of sunrise, Himalayan range -Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range fishtail, Lamjung Himal, from one point. After breakfast trek to Tadapani for 5~6 hours.

  • Day 7 : Tadapani to Ghandruk-(1940 m)Trek to Ghandruk for 3~ 4 hours from Tadapani. Ghandruk is a village of Gurung where you can explore the culture, habitants of Gurung people. There is a Gurung museum in Ghandruk.

    Trek to Ghandruk for 3~ 4 hours from Tadapani. From Tadapani, we make a steep descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees.O/N at Ghandruk

  • Day 8 : Ghandruk to Pokhara

    Today we trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara. It keeps on going down almost without any breaks from Ghandruk until Modi Khola river valley. From Birethathi, a half-an-hour's walk takes us to Nayapul. The journey on foot comes to an end at Nayapul. O/N at Pokhara hotel

  • Day 9 : Pokhara half day sightseeing and back to Kathmandu

    We will do sightseeing around Pokhara valley covering area Bindabasini Temple, Devi’s Fall, Mahendra Cave, Seti river gorge around Lake. Then at 1~2 pm back to Kathmandu

  • Day 10 : Final Departure

    We will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.

But in the meantime consider buying some good walking boots and start wearing them in . . . now. No technical kit is required; though a good 3 season plus sleeping bag will be much appreciated at the higher altitudes. In Lower elevations lodge provide quilts and blanket and you can pile it up on your sleeping bag but as we go higher towards Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, there are limited lodges and trekkers are expected to have a good sleeping bag.

People and Culture

The locals people will encounter in Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking Route are mix ethnic groups; there are Brahmans and Chhetris in lower elevations and Mongoloid Himalayan people in Himalaya. Mostly there are Gurung and Magar people in the area, famous for Gurkha regiment. If you would like to explore more cultural and traditional heritages in Himalaya then Wilderness Excursion suggest you trek to Langtang, Manaslu, and Everest region. But no doubt that Annapurna is the best for scenery as some 55000 people trek there every year.
