Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is the 7th highest mountain in the world  “White Mountain” separate from the Annapurna region, Kaligandaki Gorge one of the deepest points in the world includes some fifteen peaks above 7000 meter. Dhaulagiri Circuit trekking is a strenuous trekking through the high alpine pasture, high passes, serene and inhabited valleys.  Nepal Travel Expedition offer Dhaulagiri base camp trekking, which lies in the western part of Nepal. Dhaulagiri region trekking starts from Kathmandu scenic drive to Beni. Heading toward the north-western village of Babichour, Dorbang, and Dharapani to Muri. The last settlement along this trail is inhabited by ethnic Magar people, Monogoloid stock and descend from the early settlers of the Nepalese middle hills Magdi glacier Dhaulagiri Base Camp 4750 meter French Pass. The high point of the trek including several peaks such as Putha Himal and Tukucha peaks offer you an excellent view of Dhaulagiri Himalayan Range. After crossing French pass give us a heavenly test of an excellent white snow word. The trek continues to Dhampus pass between Tukuche Peak and Thapa peak which is another heaven further descends to the village of Marpha on the banks of the Kaligandaki River. Trek continues to Jomsom from where you fly back to Pokhara.
Of course, if some of us have enough time there is an option to continue  Tatopani, Ghorepani, Ghandruk, and Pokhara valley.

  • Day 1 : Arrival Kathmandu [1300m]

    Upon arrival ,received by our representative from the International terminal Kathmandu. He/she will be displaying Nepal Travels Signboard outside the terminal then transfer to hotel. Note: Either on this day or the next days there will be a per-group meeting; we will introduce trekking guide and other supporting gears and short briefing of our tour and trek as per the provided programme.

  • Day 2 : Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and pre-trip plan for trek

    After breakfast your sightseeing trip will start, you will be having professional tour guide and private vehicle to visit UNESCO WORLD Heritage sites, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar square. Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Though you are not allowed to go inside the temple as it is strictly for Hindus only, you can clearly see the temple and the activities from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. It is a square two-tiered pagoda temple built on a single-tier plinth which is famous all over the world. Boudhanath Stupa: Boudhananath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It was built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels. Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows. Overnight in Kathmandu. Meals: breakfast

  • Day 3 : Drive to Beni by Public bus or private vehicle 290km 9hrs drive

    After breakfast we head to Beni by private vehicle or Public bus, en route you will enjoyed with the scenery along the country side. Beni is the district Headquarter of Parbat and has security check, like trekking permits and Tims card and the town is at the confluence of the Myagdi Khola and the Kaligandaki River. Meals: breakfast|lunch|dinner

  • Day 4 : Trek to Bahiachour (950m) 5hrs

    An early breakfast we leave beni and Kali Gandaki the trek lead west along the north bank of Myagdi Khola through the village of Beni Mangalghat toward Tatopani (HOT SPRING). Crossing the bridge beyond the village to the south bank of the river the trail makes a little half loop before crossing another bridge near the village of Simalchour from here back to north bank where it continue to the village of Babichiour. Overnight meals|breakfast|lunch|dinner

  • Day 5 : Trek to Dharapani (1400m) 6-7hrs

    Today our trek leads widen valley and terraced hills on both side of the river. The path fairly leaves and you pass the village of Shahashradhara cross the Duk khola, walk through fields arriving at Ratorunga. From here the valley narrow again and terraces disappear on either side of the river, continue our trek to the Village of Dharapani. Overnight at Dharapani. Meals: breakfast|lunch|dinner

  • Day 6 : Trek to Muri (1850m) 5-6hrs

    Today after crossing the river to its west bank as you leave Phedi the trail starts ascending in earnest and there will be many switch-back until you arrive at the ridge and angle of ascent eases. Again the trail climbs steeply to the village of Muri. We continue trek to Sibang and Mattim from here you continue up an incline to the snout of the ridge descend to the Gatti Khola and small village of Phalai Goan. Then cross Dhara Khola to once again emerge on the west bank of the Myagdi Khola, climb up to large Magar settlement of Muri village. Overnight Meal:breakfast|lunch|dinner

  • Day 7 : Trek to Boghara (2080m) 6-7hrs

    Today you trek down little, cross streams and continue through terrace fields before climbing a ridge to reach the pass from where you can see Mt.Ghustung South, 6465m. Descend to the Myagdi Khola and trek along its east back to the village of Naural from where you will climb a little before traversing a grassy hill and climbing a steep slope descend through a forest and terrace field to Boghara. Meals: breakfast|lunch|dinner

  • Day 8 : Trek to Dobang (2520m) 5-6hrs

    After early breakfast the trail descends through terraced fields to a small ridge, then through a forest to jyardan. This is remote and permanent settlement of local Magar after the settlement of a high winding path crosses rocky area which then descends before climbing again to Lipshe. From there the trail continues through a forest Lapche Kharka and climb up to the level areas at Dobang. Overnight at Dobang Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 9 : Trek to Choriban Khola (3110m) 6hrs.

    Today after crossing suspension wooden bridge out of Dobang the trail lead ascends through a forest, immediately you can see the west face of Dhaulagiri I 8197m which becomes visible through breaking in the trees. Again the trail descend to the Myagdi Khola, cross via small wooden bridge to east bank continue to Chartare. Passing through forest again and again cut across a rocky mountain you arrive Choriban Khola Overnight here. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 10 : Trek to Italian Base Camp (3660,)7-8hrs

    Follow a trail to the terminal moraine of the Chhonbarban glacier and enter the glacier from the right. You can see Tukuche peak 6837m become more visible and clear just ahead, at the far end while impressive north flanks of Dhaulagiri (8167m) which is also site of our camp for the night. To the west peaks are Dhaulagiri II 7751m, Dhaulagiri III7715m, and Dhaulagiri V 7618m. Overnight at Italian base camp. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 11 : Trek to Glacier camp (4210m) 7hrs

    Begin our trek early in the morning, weather is expected to be clear, the trail is easy and flat. We passes through a narrow gorge as we stay overnight near the glacier. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 12 : Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4740m) 7hrs

    Today is the one of the adventurous days to Dhaulagiri Base Camp. From where you can look up at the impressive north face of Dhaulagiri 8167m dominating the skyline to your right, to the west peaks of Dhaulagiri II 7751m, Dhaulagiri III 7715m, and Dhaulagiri V 7618m. In front of you, the impressive ice fall that descends from the north-east. Overnight at base camp. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 13 : Rest and acclimatization

    Another day to take some rest and more importantly, acclimatize to the lower air pressure. Views from this place are superb and there is plenty to explore. Meals: Breakfast |lunch|dinner.

  • Day 14 : Cross French Pass(5360m) trek to hidden valley (5200m) 6-7hrs

    An early breakfast trek to glacier, climb two terrace hills , the first of which runs along the glacier then cuts across the mountain flank and the more you enter a gentle incline on the left from an ablation valley. Climb this gentle slope to the French pass(5360m) A great vista opens up from the French pass and you will be able to see Mukut Himal (6328m), Tashi Kang (6386m) and Sita Chuchura (6611m) all of which surrounded hidden valley. To the south is Tukuch Peaks (6920m) beyond is the massive peaks of Dhaulagiri I to French Pass we continue along the right edge of the hidden valley oozing a little altitude to the Thapa pass (5250m) between Tukuche peak and Thapa Peak (6012m). While trail descending from Thapa Pass we will setup camp at 5200m. Meals:Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 15 : Cross Dhampus Pass (5200m) and trek to Yak Kharka (3680m) 7hrs

    Today our trail lead downhill from hidden valley to Dhampus pass and continue to Yak Kharka. You can find best campsite to enjoy the surroundings. Overnight at yak Kharka. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 16 : Trek to Jomsom (2710m) 5hrs

    Continue on to the village of Marpha, on the west bank of the Kaligandaki River. Marpha is home to many apple orchards as well as all various food products made from the fruit. Don’t forget to taste the local Apple Brandy a specialty from the region that you may be lucky enough to taste en route. Continue north, up the river valley to the town of Jomsom. Overnight at Jomsom. Meals: Breakfast|lunch|dinner.

  • Day 17 : Morning fly to Pokhara from Jomsom

    In the morning fly from Jomsom to Pokhara, once we arrive at Pokhara we drive to hotel. In the afternoon we have a sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley which covers Phewa lake, Devi’s waterfall, Museum, Tibetan Refugee settlement and Gupteshwor cave. Night in Pokhara. Meals Breakfast.

  • Day 18 : Spare Days at Pokhara

    It’s spare day in case of bad weather in Jomsom the flight might got cancelled. If you are in Pokhara, you will do some sightseeing today. Overnight at Pokhara . Meals: breakfast

  • Day 19 : Drive or fly back to Kathmandu

    Today, you have the option to extend your trip continue to Chitwan jungle safari or rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, scenic Everest flight, mountain biking and other activities. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural dance performances. (Your guide(s) and an office staff will accompany you). Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 20 : Transfer to the International Airport for your final Departure.

    The trip concludes today. Our airport representative will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your flight departure from Nepal . Namaste and Tashi Delekh!!

TRIP GRADE: Strenuous Trek
This is a long trek that goes far beyond the normal haunts of trekkers and tourists, to remote areas of the country where the landscapes are wild and untamed and where the local inhabitants have seen little change in their way of life for centuries- untouched corners of an increasingly crowded planet. It is physically challenging, likely to include unfavorable weather conditions and strenuous activities, such as, climbing/ scrambling across high passes.

ACCOMMODATION
Tea house and Camping trek means avaliable local guest house provide food and sleeping tents. Camping trek, the tents provided are ‘Two men dome’ or ‘A’ shaped. Foam mattress with insulation underneath is provided for sleeping. Clients need to have their own sleeping bag. Bags or cloth packs are used as pillows. If you wish, you can bring your own ‘Air pillow’.
We provide hotels in Kathmandu under 3 Star categories which we provide to clients in connection to this itinerary, unless it is mentioned otherwise or clients have a special choice. You can check on the description of such hotels through our website.
MEALS & DRINKING WATER
We provide three tasty, plentiful and nutritious meals daily with a variety of local and Western dishes. To start the day, breakfast consists of a choice of porridge, muesli and cereal followed by omelet, fried or scrambled eggs with chapattis or bread. Lunch is generally a selection of salad, cooked vegetable dishes, pasta and traditional breads.
After a long day on the trail, dinner is a hearty 3 course meal – soup, followed by a variety of vegetable, meat, rice and pasta dishes and completed with a simple dessert. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are also provided at all meals. We use as much fresh produce as possible and special diets are regularly catered for. The leaders are able to maintain very tight controls on health and hygiene in the kitchen with respect to general cleanliness and food preparation and also within the group with respect to personal hygiene. This has allowed us to maintain remarkably high standards of health over many years of trek organization – and good health is vital to an enjoyable and successful trek and climb. All foods are well cooked and vegetables are treated by potassium permanganate or iodine. Boiled water is served for drinking. Antiseptic soaps and potassium or iodine treated water are provided for washing. Special dietary requirements can always be catered for.
LUGGAGE WHILE TREKKING
During trek your main luggage will be carried by porters.You simply carry a day pack with water bottle, camera, sun-screen, spare jacket, etc. – a small load that allows full enjoyment of the trek. A trek bag is ideal for your main luggage, plus a small lockable bag for travel clothes or anything that you do not need during trek which you can leave at hotel’s locker room/safe deposit box in Kathmandu for free of charge. Weight allowance at Nepal’s domestic airlines is 15 Kgs, excess weight is chargeable at USD 1 or more per Kilo depending on sectors.
GROUP LEADER AND CREW
We provide different options concerning leadership in order to match your requirements:
1) Trained Nepali Trek leader (experienced and knowledgeable)
2) Sherpa Guide (handles the logistics and guides you and your team on the trek)
The Sherpa guide (commonly called Sirdar) will be accompanied by a crew of porters. On camping trek, there will be 2/3 porters for each member.
