Permits and Fees

As long as trekkers refrain from climbing up mountains, no special trekking permits are required for visiting this area. An entry fee paid before entering the Sagarmatha National Park is all one needs to pay and this can be taken care of at the National Park desk in Thamel. However for treks to the east of the main Everest trail, an addition permit is required to enter the Makalu-Barun National Park obtainable from the same location in Thamel. Visitors must also carry a TIMS card obtainable free of cost from the Nepal Tourism Board office when they enter this national park.

Climate and best time to visit

The perfect time to trek to the Everest base camp area is Autumn (mid – September till the end of November) and spring (March until mid-May). Temperature will fall significantly as you trek higher each day. The nights are cold (between -10 C to 5C) but the days are sunny and hot (between 10C to 20C). the mornings are generally pleasant and calm as well as clear, with some clouds are seen in the time of afternoon, and that also disappear at the time of night. We don’t recommend you to trek at the time of monsoon and winter because of the poor visibility. Also at the time of winter, the upper parts and the high passes are also covered with snow.

Happy Clients

This is the first time for our group to visit the Nepal, Bhutan and Kashmir region and we have enjoy it very much. It is very fortunate for us, being our first trip to select your company to arrange for us the tour, and we are very please with your service and support, and your co-ordination with the Bhutan operator. For the Indian operator, except for some minor situations, overall it is satisfactory.
I believe there will be more trips to come and will recommend to you potential future travellers there.
