Trip Information

The Dhaulagiri Circuit, first discovered in 1950 by a French expedition team and is one of the most adventurous trekking destinations in Nepal. It is extremely challenging as well as a tough trek that brings you to the summit of the Dhaulagiri, the world seventh highest peak (8167m) that lies in the north-west of Pokhara. This incredible Dhaulagiri Circuit trek is filled with striking lateral moraine, icy glaciers, and high snow-covered slopes along with a superb view of the majestic Dhaulagiri massif including other spectacular above 7000m mountain peaks. This amazing trek is dream fulfilling for enthusiastic out-door lovers by following massive awe-inspiring mountain passes, moving over the Thapa peak (5,200m) and French Peak (5,360m).  The during Dhaulagiri Circuit trek, you will get an opportunity to pass two highest Mountains passes namely the Dhampus pass at an altitude of 5234m and the French pass at an altitude of 5360m. The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek begins from the capital city of Nepal with a scenic flight to Pokhara, the paradise city. After exploring this heavenly city, we begin our pleasing trail by following a bank of the Kali Gandaki and the Myagdi Khola, passing through dense forests and terraced hilly areas. Most of the way is covered by snow and glaciers. Encounter with the various ethnic group such as; Magars, and Gurungs and observe their traditional lifestyle and unique culture during the Dhaulagiri Circuit trek which also makes this trek worth visiting. This journey brings us also to tow Base Camps; the Dhaulagiri Base Camp, and the Italian Base Camp. The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of the most famous adventurous treks for those trekkers who can take full enjoyment in a challenging trail.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

  • Arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport.
  • Our representative will welcome you and drop you at your hotel.
  • Take a rest and be fresh.
  • Short briefing class about the Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek by our representative.
  • Enjoy welcome dinner with our team.
  • Stay overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (900m) by tourist bus.

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Around 5 to 6 hours’ drive takes you to the paradise city Pokhara.
  • Your journey will follow the beautiful Trisuli River.
  • Also follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangadi River through terraces fields and beautiful hill town to the Seti River.
  • Finally, reach to Tourist’s paradise city Pokhara.
  • Explore the natural and cultural heritage site of Pokhara. 
  • Enjoy boating around one hour in the Fewa Lake.
  • Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive Pokhara to Beni (830m).

  • Morning breakfast and departure.
  • Continue drive to Beni from Pokhara by following uphill trail into moderate road all the way to Naudanda.
  • Descend by following Hangza, Naudanda, Nayapul, Kusma with astonishing views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Green hills on the background. 
  • We also cross Terraces and native villages and finally reach to Beni. 
  • Overnight at Beni.

Day 4: Drive Beni to Takam

  • Morning breakfast and departure. 
  • Continue our trek around 5 hours to Takam.
  • Enjoy the rough rubble that gives us a way to the smooth ice of the white part of the glacier during our trail. 
  • Climb gradually to the rough and chilling way with the spectacular Dhaulagiri Base Camp views.
  • Finally, reach to Babiyachaur and further climb will take you to the Takam village. 
  • Overnight at Takam.

Day 5: Takam to Muri

  • Morning breakfast and departure.
  • Continue trek gently ascend through the forest with varieties of oaks, rhododendron and pine trees. 
  • Enjoy the chirping sound of the local birds during our trail.
  • Follow the quite flat land passing through a stream at one place. 
  • Further trek will cross some of the ethnic villages.
  • Reach to Muri, elevation of 1850m. 
  • Overnight at Muri camp.

Day 6: Muri to Boghara(2080m)

  • Morning breakfast and departure.
  • Continue our trail towards Boghara. 
  • Leave Muri with an easy trail and goes down for a few hours.
  • Climb a steep way and descends down to the Phedi and then the trail ascends up until we reach to Boghara. 
  • Overnight at Boghara.

Day 7: Bagar to Dovan (2520m)

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Continue our trail towards Dhoban at the elevation of 2630m. 
  • You need to trek a quite difficult trail and sometime may need the help of the ropes. 
  • Descends down to a small ridge then crosses forest to Jyardan and finally, reach to Dhoban. 
  • Overnight at Dhoban.

Day 8: Dhovan to Italian Base camp(3660m)

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Continue trek towards Italian Base Camp, situated at an elevation of 3660m. 
  • Today we need to trek around 5 hours trek.
  • Follow the beautiful forest and enjoy the undisturbed pure nature of the area.
  • Enjoy trekking in front of the west wall of the Dhaulagiri. 
  • Enjoy splendid views Dhaulagiri from the Italian Base Camp.
  • Overnight at Italian Base Camp. 

Day 9: Accommodation at Italian Base camp(3660m)

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Today we will explore the Italian Base camp, at the altitude of 4250m.
  • Today we will take a rest to gain energy to trek high passes the next day. 
  • Overnight at Italian Base Camp.

Day 10: Italian Base Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp(4750m)

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Around 5 hours trek will take us to the Dhaulagiri Base Camp, at the altitude of 4750m.
  • Continue trek on the way full of smooth ice, white glacier.
  • Be very careful during our trail.
  • You may need a help of rope, if so you can ask your guide to fixed it.
  •  Although the trail is quite tough, enjoy the hypnotic glamorous of the surrounding. 
  • Stay overnight at Base Camp. 

Day 11: Dhaulagiri to hidden Valley (5050m) via French col(536om)


⦁ Morning breakfast and departure.
⦁ Continue trail towards Hidden Valley(5050m) through the French col, at an elevation of 5360m. 
⦁ The way is full of the glacier above the hidden valley, today we often require rope to climb up. 
⦁ Around 5 hours challenging trail lead you to the French Col.
⦁ Enjoy with the spectacular view of the hidden valley, reminiscent of Tibet and Ladakh. 
⦁ Further trail will lead us to the Hidden Valley. 
⦁ Overnight at Hidden Valley.


Day 12: Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka (3680m) via Dhampus Pass (5240m)


⦁ Morning breakfast and departure.
⦁ Continue our trail from Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka. 
⦁ Ascend over 5200m Dhampus Pass and continue trail through prone slopes.
⦁ Descend steeply towards Yak Kharka. 
⦁ Overnight at Yak Kharka. 


Day 13: Yak Kharka to Jomsom(2720m)


⦁ Morning breakfast.
⦁ Leave Yak Kharka and continue trail towards Jomsom, at the altitude of 2720m.
⦁ Overnight at Jomsom Hotel.


Day 14: Jomsom to Pokhara and transfer to the hotel


⦁ Morning breakfast and departure.
⦁ Today, we will finish our trail towards Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek. 
⦁ Take an air flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. 
⦁ Around 30m scenic flight offers us magnificent aerial views of the white and green mountains. 
⦁ Transfer to the hotel, where you can take a rest. 
⦁ In the evening, you can once explore this paradise city and stroll around the Fewa Lake.
⦁ Stay overnight at Pokhara.


Day 15: Pokhara sightseeing


⦁ Early morning before breakfast.
⦁ Trek towards the Sarangkot hill for the incredible sunrise view over the mountain.
⦁ On the way back to Pokhara, you will visit Bindabasini Temple. 
⦁ Explore the Barahi Temple, Fewa Lake, Gupteswor Cave, David Fall, Seti River Gorge, Mountain Museum and others.
⦁ Enjoy with the magnificent mountain view; Mt. Machhapuchre(fishtail), Dhaulagiri, Himalchuli, Annapurna and many more.

Day 16: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus.

⦁ Around 6 hours drive to Kathmandu by tourist Ac bus.

⦁ After you reach to Kathmandu and take a rest and view all the images captured during the trek.

Day 17: Kathmandu rest day and enjoy farewell dinner

⦁ Take a rest and recall all the memories which you were captured in your cameras.  
⦁ If you desired you can do some shopping in the vibrant Thamel market.
⦁ Enjoy farewell dinner in the Nepali restaurant which represent typical Nepal culture.
