The Kanchenjunga Trek is one of the most famous third highest mountains treks in the world. It provides an opportunity to trek in the wilderness and unspoiled north-eastern part of Nepal. Located in the Taplejung District on the border side of Sikkim and Tibet, Kanchenjunga is well-known for its natural beauty; three river valleys called The Ghunsa Khola, Simbua Khola, and the Tamur Valley. Some trekkers also regarded Kanchenjunga as a Gift to the Earth. The major attraction of the Kanchenjunga trek are splendid views of the Kanchenjunga Massif, various beautiful rivers, varied landscapes of enchanting rhododendron forests, and unique and rare flora and fauna including orchids, alpine, bamboo, oaks, red panda, Asiatic black bear, musk deer, snow leopard, and many more. During our pleasing trail, we can view magnificent mountains such as; Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Makalu, Jahnu Himal and many other stunning peaks. Kanchenjunga is rich in ethnic diversity and various cultures, where more than 11 ethnic communities including Rai, Chettri, Limbu, Brahmins are settled. This amazing trek was officially opened in 1988, and it is filled with cultural heritages such as; ancient monasteries, Hindu temples, Prayer-walls, Chhortens, several Passes including the Mirgin La pass and many more.
This beautiful trek in the remote area begins from Kathmandu with an elegant scenic flight to Bhadrapur and a drive to Taplejung. Walking through the lush rhododendron forests, climbing into the high alpine terrain beyond the various ethnic settlements, viewing astounding views of Mt. Kanchenjunga from different angles is really mesmerizing.
