If you are wondering to travel in the dry and barren landscapes with the spectacular giant Himalayas on the backdrop and experience the decade-long culture of the Himalayan people, Lower Mustang trek is one of the best destinations in the world, which is situated at the northern central part of the Nepal. Lower Mustang trek lets us to travel in the geographically and geologically similar area of Tibet, where you will find dry land and meditation caves carved into the rocky sandstone cliffs. The journey onwards to the Lower Mustang trek will follow the deepest gorge of the Kali Gandaki to desert-like dry and barren lands, where you will also get an opportunity to admire the majestic views of the Himalayas such as; Mount Dhaulagiri, Mt. This amazing Lower Mustang trek offers us to travel in the remote area of Nepal, even though, trekking route is easily accessible that we can take an air flight from the lake city, Pokhara to Jomsom. In this paradise city, Pokhara, you can enjoy boating in the Fewa lake and stroll around the area. Spring and autumn (March-May and September-November respectively)
 seasons are the best seasons to trek and explore the Lower Mustang.

Day 16: Transfer to International Airport for departure

Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel. 

  • After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport.
  • Our representative will welcome you and drop you at your hotel.
  • Hotel checkout and rest and relax in the hotel.
  • Stroll around the Thamel Bazaar to be familiar with the place.
  • Enjoy welcome dinner program organized by our  
  • Overnight at hotel. 

Day 2: Sightseeing at Kathmandu

  • Early morning breakfast.
  • Half day world heritage cultural tour (Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square).
  • A brief explanation about the further trek. (Afternoon trek briefing and trek gear distribution.)
  • Putting all the essential things in the bag. 
  • Stay overnight at the hotel.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So, you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing. 

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara [914m/2997ft] [6 hrs drive]

  • Morning breakfast and begin the journey.
  • Drive towards Pokhara from Kathmandu (6 hours).
  • Enjoy scenic drive on the Prithvi Highway by following the banks of Trisuli River and Marsyangdi River.
  • Enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake.
  • Stroll around the Fewa Lake.
  • Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas; Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Himalchuli, Everest, Annapurna and many more.
  • Witness sunset views. 
  • Stay overnight in Pokhara. 

Day 4: Drive to Nayapul [1050m/3444ft] & Trek to Ghandruk [1950m/6396ft] [2 hrs drive & 4-5 hrs. walk]

  • Morning breakfast.
  • Drive around two hours to reach Naypul.
  • Continue trek from Nayapul and along the Modi stream, and reach Birethanti.
  • Take trek permit at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project.
  • You can see the various beautiful village that has plenty of tea shops and guest houses on the way. 
  • Continue trek by following the north bank of the Modhi Khola and reach to Kimche.
  • Climb slightly up to the valley Ghandruk, Gurung village. 
  • Overnight at Ghandruk.

Day 5: Trek from Ghandruk to Tadapani [2590m/8495ft] [4-5 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and depart.
  • Begins trekking by following the main trail to the northwestern end of the village towards Tadapani. 
  • Climb gradually through the dense forest filled with rhododendron and oak trees.
  • the Encounter with the several species of birds and wild animals. 
  • The further trek will lead us to the Bheri Kharka, there you can see a few tea shops. 
  • Enjoy the mesmerizing sounds of birds chirping along the way 
  • Arrive at Tadapani stay overnight there.

Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani [2874m/9426ft] [5-6 hrs of walk]

Morning breakfast and depart.
Continue trek by following descend trail and cross over a small stream and climb uphill towards Banthati.
Meet the people and encounter their culture.
Continue trek with several ascends and descends through the beautiful oak forest.
Enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) and other fascinating snow-capped peaks from Ghorepani.
Overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 7: Early Morning hike to Poon Hill [3210m/10528ft] and back to Ghorepani. Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani [1190m/3903ft] [ [7-8 hrs of walk]

  • Before morning breakfast hike to Poon Hill.
  • Enjoy stunning sunrise views and mountains views; over Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna South 7219m, Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) 6997m, Tukuche Peak 6920m, Hiunchuli 6441m, and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks.
  • Have a breakfast with the impressive views.
  • After exploration continue our trail downhill passing through Ghar Khola and head towards Tatopani.
  • Enjoy magnificent view of Mount Nilgiri from the Tatopani. 
  • On the way, you can see various wild animals. 
  • Enjoy viewing bird’s species and eye-catching waterfalls and sceneries along the way. 
  • Enjoy bathing in the natural hot spring.  
  • Overnight at Tatopani.

Day 8: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa[2010m/6592ft] [6-7 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and depart.
  • Continue trek through the broad motor road.
  • Trek goes through the Kali Gandaki river. 
  • Ascend gradually by passing through the magnificent waterfall of Rupche Chahara.
  • Continue trek through the deep gorges and reach to the beautiful village Ghasa.  
  • Overnight at Ghasa. 

Day 9: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha[2670m/8757ft] [6-7 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and departure
  • Continue trek by following the forest along the banks of Lete river.
  • Trek along the east side of Kali Gandaki Valley to reach the beautiful Larjung village.
  • Continue our trek by following the apple garden of Marpha. 
  • Stroll around Marpha village and visit apple orchards.
  • Overnight at Marpha.

Day 10: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni[2800m/9184ft] [5-6 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and departure.
  • Continue trek along the east bank of the river towards Ekla Bhatti. 
  • Continue trek along the bottom of the valley to reach the village of Kagbeni.
  • Enjoy stunning views of the gompa with Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri rising above us.
  • Overnight at Kagbeni. 

Day 11: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath [3795m/12447ft] [4-5 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and continue the trek.
  • Trek ascends steeply to the upper valley with magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and the Kali Gandaki Valley.
  • Pass one of the old villages called Jharkot, where you can encounter with the Tibetan culture and tradition of the people.
  • Climb up and reach to the pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Hindus - Muktinath. 
  • Explore the holy shrine, Buddhist gompa, and a pagoda-style temple.
  • Enjoy magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak and other stunning snow-capped peaks.
  • Overnight at Muktinath.

Day 12: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom [2713m/8898ft] [4-5 hrs of walk]

  • Morning breakfast and departure.
  • Explore the Muktinath, and enjoy bathing 108 waterspouts.
  • Continue trek by following the trail and reach the Jharkot. 
  • Depart the moter way and follow the small irrigation stream to reach Khingar. 
  • The further trek will lead us to the Jomsom. 
  • Jomsom is the main administrative center and headquarter of Mustang. 
  • Overnight at Jomsom.

Day 13: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. Free day at Pokhara for sightseeing. 

  • Morning breakfast and take morning scenic flight to Pokhara. 
  • After hotel check-out stroll around the Fewa Lake.
  • Enjoy around 1-hour boating in the Fewa lake.
  • Enjoy views of stunning mountains; Machhapuchre, Dhaulagiri, Himalchuli, Annapurna and many more.
  • Enjoying viewing the reflection of Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail) Himal over the serene Fewa Lake.
  • Explore the Mahendra cave, Davids falls and many more.

Day 14: Drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu.

  • Around 6 to 7 hours’ drive takes us to the Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.
  • You will drive through the Prithvi Highway which offers scenic hilly zigzag roads through the banks of Trishuli River. 
  • You will cross through many villages and towns.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15: Kathmandu rest day.

  • Early morning breakfast.
  • You can visit the world heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley.
  • You can do some souvenir shopping in the vibrant Thamel if you want.
