Druk path trekking is the ancient high-level route between Paro and Thimpu in Bhutan trek and Tour which is a popular short trek, designed for those who are in Bhutan for short duration. Experience countryside, mountains, high alpine, glacial-like monasteries, on the first day’s walk leads to the ruined jeli, Dzong which is high ridge above the Paro valley and commands breathtaking views of Chomolhari.
During our short trekking, we climb above the tree-line and cross several passes. We camp beside Clear Mountain-like, visit yak herders encampments and enjoy with splendid mountain panoramas of the peaks on the border with Tibet, including Jitchu Drake and Gangkar Puensum. Also, we will visit impressive Taktsang Monastery in the Paro and the Tashichho Dzong at Thimpu.

  • Day 1 : Arrival at Paro Airport (2,280m). Overnight at a hotel.

    Flight to Paro from Bangkok, New Delhi, Kathmandu, Dhaka, welcome to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Touching down at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide upon exiting the arrival hall. Today, we will take it easy to acclimatize to the altitude and rest for the day. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner

  • Day 2 : Day excursion from Paro to the Taktsang Monastery. Overnight at a hotel.

    Today hike to Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest takes 4-5 hours. This magical monastery clings to a vertical cliff (800m) above the valley. Legend says that Guru Padmasambhava (one of the greatest Buddhist saints) flew here on the back of a tigress - hence the name - to meditate. Visit the ruins of Drugyel Dzong upon return. In evening, if you are not tired, visit Paro Rimpung Dzong (fortress of the "heap of jewels"). Take rest to prepare for the trekking next day. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner.

  • Day 3 : Trek from Paro to Jele Dzong (3,436m) – Distance: 8 km – 5 hrs. Overnight at tented camps.

    Today is a short trekking day. We start from above the National Museum, gradually ascending up to the camp. If the weather is clear Paro valley and the surrounding mountains can be seen. The campsite is near the old Jele Dzong which, we can visit in the evening. Overnight at tented camps. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner.

  • Day 4 : Trek to Jangchulakha (3,962m) – Distance: 9 km – 5 hrs. Overnight at tented camps

    Our hiking distance today is about six miles. We begin with an hour and half of steep climbing until the trail moderates to an easier slope. The trail leads us through an alpine forest of dwarf rhododendron trees. You may spy yaks and yak herders scattered around our campsite. Total hiking time today is about four to five hours. We camp at 9443 feet. Overnight at tented camps. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner

  • Day 5 : Trek to Jimilang Tsho (3,880m) – Distance: 10 km – 6 hrs. Overnight at tented camps

    Today our trek distance will be 9km, about five hours of hiking, leaving us plenty of time to relax or explore later in the day. The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day, the view of the mountains and valley are beautiful. The campsite is close to the Lake Jimilangtso. These lakes are known for their giant sized trout. Overnight at tented camps. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner

  • Day 6 : Trek to Simkotra (4,090m) – Distance: 7 km – 4 hrs. Overnight at tented camps.

    The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and passes by the lake of Janetsho. Today you may come across some yak herder’s camp. We camp overnight close to Simkotra lake. Overnight at tented camps. Includes meals Lunch and Dinner

  • Day 7 : Trek to Thimphu via Phazoding – Distance: 14 km – 7 hrs. Overnight at a hotel.

    Today is the last day of the trek. The four-mile trek to Phajoding begins with a gradual climb. If weather permits, you'll have a spectacular view of Mount "Gangkhar Phuensum," the highest mountain in Bhutan. From here, the trekking descends to Phajoding, which overlooks the capital Thimphu. After lunch, we will make a five-mile hike to Thimphu in about three hours. The route is downhill through a forested area of mostly Blue Pine. Back to hotel for a hot shower and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Thimphu sightseeing includes the local market, a painting school, a handicraft emporium, or the Folk Heritage

  • Day 8 : – Thimphu Sightseeing. Overnight at a hotel

    The day begins with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten (1974) built in honor of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. We then visit the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the art of painting Thangkas (sacred Buddhist religious scrolls). After lunch, we drive to the Traditional Medicine Institute where medicines are prepared according to ancient practices, and to the Bhutanese paper factory at work. Other highlights include a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, a seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan). We finally visit the Handicrafts Emporium followed by shopping and walk through the town. You can also visit the weekend farmer’s market.

  • Day 9 : Departure from Paro by Druk Air.

    Early morning drive to Paro airport for your onward journey. On a clear day, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Bhutan, Sikkim and eastern Nepal’s snow-capped peaks, including Mt.Everest, Mt.Kanchenjunga, and Mt.Jhomolhari, as you fly out.


  • Pick up from and drop off at the hotel and the airport on a private tourist vehicle.
  • Guided city tour in Paro by private tourist vehicle.
  • • Standard government-approved accommodation (in twin sharing rooms) for the duration of the tour.
  • Full-board meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea & snacks - for the duration of your stay.
  • Tented accommodation and equipment during the camping trek. (We will provide fully waterproof two men tents, dining tents, kitchen gear, dining table, chairs, toilet tents, shower tent etc.)
  • Drinking water for the duration of the tour.
  • Country presentation and tour Briefing on the evening of Day1 with welcome drinks.
  • Licensed English-speaking Bhutanese tour guides.
  • The required number of local staff and porters to carry your luggage and camping equipment during the trek.
  • Private transportation and a designated driver within Bhutan. Toyota 4WD luggage vans and light trucks for group travel. Luggage will be carried by horses, mules or yaks at higher elevations.
  • Monument and museums entrance fees for all sightseeing locations detailed in the itinerary.
  • Cultural afternoon/evening sessions with traditional mask and folk dances (with beverages). Only for group tours.
