Langtang Region, Goshaikunda trek is a marvelous tourist destination of Nepal. One can set out this trek. The Langtang trek is one of the popular and most beautiful trekking. Goshaikunda refers to the lake in the Nepali language. There are 108 lakes in the area and Goshaikunda is the famous and religious places of pilgrimage in this area situated at 4380m altitude. Surrounding by high mountains on the north and east, this lake is grand and picturesque. This Lake remains frozen for 6 months during the winter from October to June. Also, there are other 9 famous lakes such as Saraswati, Bhairab, Surya, and Goshaikunda. Every year during the Janai Purnima in August thousands of Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims visit the lake for the holy bath. The lake is believed to have formed from digging of the land by the Trishuli (Holy three-Pointed sword) of Lord Shiva after he drank the poison from Samudra Manthan and desperately wanted cold water to quench the overwhelming heat of the poison. The large rock in the center of the lake is said to be the remnants of a Shiva Shrine, also claimed that channel carries water from the water directly to the tank at the Kumbheshwar Temple in The Patan 45 miles to the south. This 16 days Goshaikunda trek give us  magnificent views of the white snow-capped mountain and Tamang culture of the trek.
