Kathmandu Lhasa overland tour is a popular destination. Tibet Lhasa overland tour through Kerong border driving over Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal Kathmandu to Rasawa- Kerong Highway connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa.   • Day 1 - Kathmandu - Kerong Border.

  1. Day 1 Kathmandu - Kerong Border.

    Early in the morning scenic drive to Kerung Border (Nepal-Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, an hour adventurous uphill drive by Bus & jeep(normally) or 2 hour walk uphill (in case of landslide to Chinese immigration, check-in to hotel or Continue drive to Kerung and stay overnight at Guest House. Accomodation: Guest House
     

  2. Day 2 Kerung - Tingri / Lhatse .

    Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer After having breakfast at lodge, you will start the tour for today through uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world. from where, weather permitting, breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt Cho Oyu (8201 M) & Mt Xishapagma (8012M) but dwarfed by the Vastness of the Tibetan plateau. From TINGRI, one can enjoy the magnificence of Mt. Everest (8,848 M). Stay overnight at Guest House.

  3. Day 3 Lhatse-Shigatse/Xingatse(3900 m).

    After having breakfast at lodge, You start your tour and a four hour drive brings us to Tibet's second largest city, Shigatse. Here we visit Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, hence one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.

  4. Day 4 Shigatse/Xigatse -Gyantse (90 km/ 3900 m).

    After a stroll though the old city we depart for the two and a half hour drive to Gyantse. While approaching the small farming town we can clearly see the old fort that was captured by Young husband during his 1904 raid into Tibet. Here the main attraction is the Kumbum monastery with its extraordinary architecture.

  5. Day 5 Xigatse - Gyantse to Lhasa.

    This will be a long drive, but on the way we cross the Karo-la with the beautiful glacier, we see Yamdrok Tso which is named the Turquoise lake and cross the Kamba-la from where we descend to the main road which bring us all the way to Lhasa.

  6. Day 6 Tour in Lhasa.

    In the Morning after having breakfast at hotel, you visit Potala palace, the seat of both religion and politics in Tibet, It was built in the 7th century by Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo and later renovated by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century, afternoon visit Sera monastery 5 kilometer north of Lhasa city which was built in 1419 by Jamchen Choeji, a disciple of Tsongkhapa,the founder of the Gelugpa sect. Sera are one of the three major monasteries of yellow sect in Tibet, transfer to hotel and overnight at hotel.

  7. Day 7 Tour in Lhasa .

    In the Morning, after having breakfast at hotel, you visit Drepung monastery, which is the largest Monastery of the Gelugpa sect of Buddhism in Lhasa, which was built in 1416 by Jamyang chojie a disciple of Tsongkhapa and in the afternoon, visit Jokhang Tempale and Barkhor market, this is the holiest shrine in Tibet and houses of golden statue of the Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought to Tibet by the Chinese princess Wenchen and overnight at hotel.
     

  8. Day 8 Lhasa to Kathmandu.

    In the very early morning after breakfast, drive 2hrs to airport. Around 10:00 are (Chinese standard time) fly to Kathmandu (arriving 09:00am local time) and your Tibet tour is complete now.

The price per person for the Small group Journey is fixed as stated below. There is also the option of private and tailor made journey best suited for you, your family and friends. The discount is subjected to increase with the number of people in your group. Bigger the group better the discount so group bookings are highly encouraged.

Donation and Charity!

Nepal Travel Expedition donates 10% of its annual revenue to Sherpa Outdoor Foundation Orphan Children Home Which is Located in Lalitpur one can visit while you are in Nepal after or before the trip.  We support Children's for Food, School, Clothes, Medicine also supporting stationery materials to Government School which is located at Lamjung district trying to build a library for them where they could find a different book to read. For this project, we are trying to collect donations.

One of the major activities of Sherpa outdoor Children home in Lalitpur is fully conducted and collaborate with Nepal Travel Expedition and sister concern organization Nepal wildlife safari. The Volunteering concern programmed delivered by Nepal Travel Expedition and Sherpa Outdoor Foundation aims to mobilize a team of experts and interested individuals as an economic measure in providing human capital for education, health, community to share teaching skill various Government school in a different part of the country and community to delivered humanity skills also in our children home.
